Le Raby offers a choice of 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms, each with its own distinctive style and character. La Vigne and Le Pressoir have one bedroom, Le Chai has two bedrooms, but if you need an additional bedroom, we have Le Liege, which is a cosy self-contained ground-floor studio with shower room.
Set within a walled courtyard the property is completely self-contained. Great care was taken during the extensive renovation of these centuries-old farm buildings to preserve the original features and character. The thick stone wall construction, together with shutters and terracotta floors all help with keeping the accommodation cool in summer.

Painted shutters, typical in the Charente adorn the windows and doors and they also assist with temperature control. To ensure you have a comfortable stay, each gite contains:
- A welcome pack
- A fully equipped kitchen including “Ottoni Fabbrica” electric kettle; “Nespresso” coffee machine; induction hob; electric oven and fridge/freezer
- A shower room
- A hairdryer in every bedroom
- An electric towel warmer in every bathroom
- Bath, hand and pool towels
- King-size bed; Le Chai also has two large single beds
- “Silentnight 1850” premier pocket sprung 30 cm deep mattresses
- Duvets and pillows from “the Duvet Store” in Scotland, hand-filled with “Dacron Comforel” hollowfibre
- An electric fan
- T.V.
- Wi-Fi
- BBQ
- Outdoor table and chairs
- Smoke alarms
There is also a laundry/utility room containing a Miele washing machine and tumble drier; iron and ironing board; hoover, mops and cleaning equipment.

Le Raby is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and stress of everyday life. It has been described by guests as the ideal place for a “digital detox”. Tranquillity and privacy are guaranteed.
So at Le Raby it means whether as a couple or with family or friends you have your own place to be yourself, escape to with your own living and kitchen space for privacy and most importantly your own bathroom so no fighting for the shower or toilet.
Our property is unsuitable for young children, so we can only take bookings for adults and teenage children and we are unable to accept pets. We also respectfully ask you to observe a no-smoking policy within the gites.

LA VIGNE is detached & cosy with one bedroomed that has its own private covered terrace, which is perfect for watching the sun rise, for breakfast or shade in the heat of the day or to enjoy a glass of wine or BBQ. The ground floor consists of an open-plan living room with kitchen area and a separate shower room. The bedroom, with beamed ceiling, is upstairs with a door to an external staircase leading straight onto the terrace.

LE PRESSOIR also 1-bedroom with a view down the courtyard to the pool. Le Pressoir is attached to Le Chai but remains entirely private. It has a large ground-floor open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area with patio doors that open onto the courtyard. A spiral staircase leads to the large bedroom with an en-suite shower room and walk-in wardrobe.

LE LIEGE is attached to the other end of Le Chai and has patio doors leading to an external staircase with direct access to a large private courtyard, which is home to a number of artefacts from the property’s cognac-production days – a perfect spot for breakfast, sunbathing or a BBQ. Le Liege has a studio-style layout with an open-plan living room / kitchen / dining area / bedroom with separate shower room – all on the ground floor. It can only be rented together with Le Chai making a 3-bedroomed option.

LE CHAI is large with two bedrooms – one double and one with two single beds. On the ground floor there is a W.C., a large living room with a full-height original exposed-beamed ceiling, a separate dining area and two sets of patio doors – one leading to the courtyard, the other to a private garden area with a BBQ and a view to the forest. There is a fully fitted separate kitchen with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave and this too has a view to the garden and forest. Upstairs, both bedrooms have beamed ceilings, an en-suite shower room and a view over the vines to the forest.
If you need three bedrooms, Le Liege is the perfect addition to Le Chai.

The 11 x 3 metre pool is available from May to September (weather permitting) and is for the exclusive use of guests. It receives the sun all day through to sunset, but is also heated as needed to maintain a minimum temperature.
Sunbeds are provided and various chairs and tables are dotted around the courtyard. There is an undercover au-vent seating and dining area and a pool shower and toilet.
You also have use of a boules/pétanque court and a giant-sized chess set, which you’ll find in the centre of the courtyard; full sized table-tennis and if you fancy venturing out, bicycles are available for a leisurely ride along the neighbouring country lanes.
